Custom personalized wedding cake topper

My youngest brother recently got married and I had the honor of making their wedding cake topper.  He and Sarah first met while playing the World of Warcraft.  He played a female Blood Elf and she played a male Tauren.  They wanted me to create their characters in polymer clay wearing the same outfits which BJ and Sarah would be wearing for the wedding.   Sarah wore a beautiful white wedding gown and BJ wore full Scottish dress to represent his Celtic heritage.  I even created her wedding bouquet to match the flowers in the real bouquet.  This highly detailed cake topper posed several challenges for me.  It had to be lightweight since I didn't want it to sink into the bride and groom's special cheesecake.  I also learned a lot about Scottish dress outfits while painstakingly matching the plaid pattern on the Blood Elf's kilt to the clan pattern my brother would be wearing in the wedding.  I included as many details as possible, like the sporran, the purple tie, the laced gillies, and the belt buckle.
Made to Order Personalized Unique Wedding Cake Topper deposit

This cake topper measures about four inches tall and 5 inches wide and took about a month to complete.  It was a real hit at the wedding.  Everyone liked it so much I decided to  make a custom order listing in CreativeCritters for personalized wedding cake toppers.
I can create toppers to resemble your online avatars, characters in a game, or anything else you like.
Your wedding is one of the most important events in your life. You want your cake topper to signify that importance, rather than have just another generic bride and groom! This is a keepsake you will have for the rest of your married days. It should be as special and unique as your wedding :-) I can create any character you like, so long as you can provide good pictures. I can also create more traditional bride and groom, or same sex cake toppers, but still customize them to make them resemble the bride and groom. There are a lot of options when it comes to wedding cake toppers, and I do my very best to create something that is completely unique, something that really captures who the bride and groom are.  If you have any questions just visit CreativeCritters and use the Contact Artisan button under my avatar.

My entry for the Polymer Clay Smooshers Moods Challenge

The theme for this months Challenge from the Polymer Clay Smooshers Guild is Moods.  I had a lot of different ideas for this challenge, and I even thought I had settled on moody magnets.  However, when I picked up the clay and started smooshing, my muse took me in another direction entirely.  I ended up sculpting this whimsical purple elf holding a puppy wrapped in a blanket.Puppy Love OOAK Whimsical Handmade Purple Polymer Clay Elf Sculpture

I call this sculpture Puppy Love, and I remember that mood so well!  I was 18 when I got my first puppy (one that was truly MINE, not just a family dog).  Randi was so sweet, and I used to cuddle with her in bed at night when she was a puppy so she wouldn't be lonely.  Heck, even housebreaking her wasn't that bad.  She learned quickly, and always wanted to please.  Of course I had to add a little extra whimsy to the piece by making it an elf with his first puppy ;-)  And during the entire month of July this sculpture, along with everything else in my shop, is marked 10% off for my Christmas in July sale.  Thanks for stopping by my whimsical world of critters! ;-)

The latest Fantasy sculpture from CreativeCritters

I just listed my newest Fantasy sculpture, "Elvina the Elf Seeks Advice from Drucylla the Dragon", in my studio yesterday.  This piece took over a month to complete due to the intricate detail involved.  Elvina, a beautiful blond Elven girl, reclines on a log (a piece of driftwood I salvaged), as she seeks council from her friend and advisor, Drucylla the Dragon.  Drucylla, being many hundreds of years old, has learned much in her time, and often can see solutions that remain hidden to the young elves.  Drucylla was sculpted in polymer clay and sits 6 1/2" tall.  Each of her scales was individually cut out and carefully placed.  The scales were cut from variegated millifiori slices in shades of blue, pink, and purple.  The dragon's wings were stamped and then dusted with blue interference powder before baking.  Once cool I used high gloss glaze on the entire dragon.  Drucylla's eyes were made from glass beads.  Elvina was also carefully sculpted by hand in polymer clay.  Her green eyes were painted with acrylic paint and her hair is soft Homespun yarn.  The base of the sculpture, which measures about 9" long and 6" wide, was made from a piece of wood.  I painted the top in shades of green and covered the bottom with fabric, which I've signed and dated.  The rocks were sculpted from air dry clay and then painted.  Below are a few pictures of the sculpture.  If you click on them you can go directly to my studio and view the listing.  Thanks for looking at my latest creation!
