When I first started, I used the cheap plastic beads. I didn't want to purchase the expensive beads if I didn't like making jewelry. Now I make one of a kind pieces using real stones, glass beads, sterling silver, and stainless steal. I have improved in my techniques over the last 6 years and I have found that beading wire is a lot stronger and will not break like thread. Then in 2008, my mother passed away and I needed something different to do because I was suffering from a deep depression. I took my first quilting class and I found that it came really easy to me. Now I make a variety of quilts including stained glass, applique, mosaic, and foundation paper piecing. You can find my quilts on my sister site http://www.bluedesertroses.artfire.com. I am still learning new techniques every day. I have done custom work which have included a stained glass Denver Broncos wall hangings and king size quilt and a Messenger Bag. Just to name a few.
