Summer Challenge for the ArtFire Polymer Clay Smooshers Guild

It's time to vote for the best polymer clay piece in the the ArtFire Polymer Clay Smooshers Guild Summer Challenge!

While there are many excellent pieces, I'd like my Whimsical Waterbug sculpture to win.  I love this piece.  It's fun, detailed, and really says "summer" to me.  Since I love the color purple I made my Waterbug purple.  He's working very hard on his sand castle using his yellow shovel and is even wearing a yellow snorkle and mask, as well as green flippers. He has yellow shorts and an orange life jacket on (safety first!).  His wings were made with liquid polymer clay sprinkled with green embossing powder.  Be sure to click on the link above to vote.

Vote for Lycah the Lavender Fairy!

The ArtFire Polymer Clay Smooshers Guild is having their "Pastel Challenge".  You can place your vote at polymerclaysmooshers.blogspot.com.  There are many great pastel pieces entered, including my own sculpture, Lycah the Lavender Fairy.

I only joined the ArtFire Smooshers Guild recently, and this is my first Challenge.  I'm really enjoying the Guild so far.  ColtPixie, the guild master, works very hard to keep it interesting, fun, and informative.  She has monthly Challenges, as well as weekly theme posts on the blog.  It's a great place to get together with fellow "clayers" and view some really awesome (not to mention, varied) artwork.  The sky's the linit with this particular medium, and these artists are going above and beyond that limit!  And if you have any questions, there's an "Ask a Smoosher" section on the blog.  I believe we have almost 50 members now.

So stop by the Pastel Challenge and vote for Lycah!

Thanks for voting!
